Practical scenarios

Articles use recognizable situations to explain outfit choices and tradeoffs. A scene about a commute, wedding or dinner is an illustrative scenario, not a claim about an author's personal life. Suggestions are starting points to adapt to your comfort, budget, climate and calendar.

Evidence and product claims

We distinguish general styling judgment from factual product information. The current guides focus on selection criteria rather than specific product testing. We do not invent wear tests, numerical ratings, performance results or personal purchases. Readers should verify current product specifications and purchase terms directly with retailers.

Photography

Editorial images illustrate the subjects. A photographed garment is not necessarily a recommended product, and an image does not prove its fiber content or performance. We use licensed or otherwise permitted imagery with source records and credit where appropriate.

Commercial transparency
